Introduction

What’s the ideal duration for a new gym-goer? How long should you work out? Should you work out in the morning, afternoon or evening? Ever ask yourself these condumrum questions? I know I have.

The truth is, the gym can be a terrorising place. It’s loud, busy and jam packed with people who know what they’re doing. You might even get to the point where you give yourself the third degree as to what your reasons for going in the first place, especially if you’re not used to exercising on a regular basis or just starting out. Don’t plague yourself with millions of thoughts running throuhg your mind; we’re here to help your gym days become a bed of roses, you’ll wonder where I’ve been all your life:

What’s the ideal duration for a new gym-goer? Your question is important and we can help you find an answer.

Create Your Workout Schedule

Once you’ve clinched the deal on the type of exercise that you want to do and have bought all your gym essentials, it is time to give life to your workout schedule.

What’s the ideal duration for a new gym-goer?

Create a schedule based on how much time you can commit to exercising. For example, if you only have 30 minutes then this is how long your workouts should last. However if you have an hour or more then perhaps consider doing two short sessions instead of one longer one so as not to tire yourself out too quickly.

Always keep hydrated before, during and after a workout.

Now it’s time to get down to business! Let’s talk about how we can build our own personalised workout schedules.

When creating a new habit like exercising regularly, having a goal in mind helps keep us motivated and focused on what we’re trying to achieve with our efforts (and also keeps us from getting bored!). For example: “I am going to lose 10lbs by next month.” Or “I would like my running speed/distance increased by 5% every week.”

Don’t Be Afraid To Try New Things

When you’re new to the gym, don’t be afraid to try new things. Don’t think you have to stick with the same workout routine forever and ever. The hardest part about working out is doing it in the first place, but once you’ve done it a few times, it’s much easier to come back and try out different classes. Sometimes exercises work great for your body one time and then they don’t work the next—but that’s okay! As long as you’re, choosing a variety of exercises, and getting your heart pumping, that’s what counts.

Take Rest Days Seriously

Rest days help your body recover from the wear and tear of your workouts. They also help you avoid injury and burnouGym advice for beginners. If you feel like making up for lost time, there are plenty of things that can be done in the gym without any equipment or weights at all. Yoga is a great example of something that can be done anywhere and with no equipment, but there are plenty more options (e.g., walking at a treadmill desk).

Stay Hydrated

Did you know that your body is made up of about 70% water? Drinking enough water helps prevent dehydration which can lead to discomfort like headaches or dizziness. Hydration is also important for staying healthy and flexible muscles – especially if you exercise regularly.

Fuel Yourself For Success

The gym can be intimidating, especially if it’s your first time there. Here are five tips to help you get started:

Achieving your fitness goals doesn’t have to be so intimidating.

Starting a fitness program can be intimidating, but you shouldn’t let that hold you back from being the best version of yourself. Set realistic and achievable goals for yourself that you can measure in weeks or months as opposed to years. It is important to stay motivated by finding a workout routine that is sustainable and enjoyable while still fitting into your schedule. Our free gymguide has some additional tips for starting off on the right foot!

Conclusion

We hope these tips will help you feel more confident and excited about your new fitness routine. Remember, the most important part of all is to keep at it! If you fall off track one day or even several months down the line, don’t think that means you are a failure. Just get right back up again and keep going until you meet your goals.
