The number on the scale can either be your worst enemy or it can be your best friend.

It all depends on how you see that number on the scale.

You’re not “failing” if you don’t lose weight every day

The number on the scale can either be your worst enemy or it can be your best friend. It all depends on how you see that number.

You’re not “failing” if you don’t lose weight every day.

Losing weight is a process and one that takes time, so it’s important to keep that in mind when looking at the scale. Your body needs time to adjust to changes in your diet and exercise routine, which means that sometimes the number on the scale won’t change even though you’ve been working hard at making healthy choices.

Weight loss is not linear.

Weight loss is not linear. It’s a process, and sometimes it will speed up and sometimes it will slow down. The number on the scale can be a roller coaster ride, so try not to get too concerned with it. If you are losing weight at a consistent rate that works for your body and lifestyle, then celebrate!

The number on the scale doesn’t tell the whole story.

The number on the scale isn’t everything.

It doesn’t tell you whether you’ve lost fat, gained muscle or even just put on water weight. So if your weight is increasing and it seems like nothing is working in your favor, don’t freak out!

If you feel better, you’re on the right path, regardless of what the scale says.

When you’re working toward a goal, it’s important to know that you’ll have ups and downs. If you don’t lose weight every day, or if the number on the scale increases for a period of time, that doesn’t mean that everything is going wrong–it just means that your body has different needs at this moment in time.

Weight loss is not linear; it’s more like an upward-sloping line than one that goes straight up and down (or down). And while there are many factors involved in determining how much weight we can expect to lose in any given week or month, our bodies are ultimately unpredictable machines–and some days they may simply need more energy than others because they’re doing more work!

The truth is: weight loss isn’t always what counts most when it comes to health goals (or even aesthetic ones). Your body shape matters just as much as your size does when looking at how healthy and fit someone looks; so do things like blood pressure levels and cholesterol levels–and these numbers won’t change much no matter how much weight someone loses!

Conclusion

There are a lot of reasons to be wary of the scale and keep your focus on how you feel. If you’re trying to lose weight, it’s important not to get discouraged if your progress isn’t linear or if you have days where it seems like nothing is working. And even if you’re just trying to maintain a healthy weight, there are other factors that play into whether or not your body looks a certain way (like genetics). So don’t get caught up in numbers–instead, focus on how good you feel!

I’m a meal planning reformist because, not too long ago, I’d break out in hives at the thought of eating the same boring food five days in a row (seriously, even the broccoli turned brown from being overcooked). But now that I know how to simplify healthy eating without the stress, I help busy women (who shudder at the "what's for dinner" question every evening) finally make eating healthy easy, enjoyable, and sustainable.
